Optimising movements
Industrial robots are equipped with complex software which is suitable for a variety of applications. Nevertheless, there are inevitably some intricate processes that depend on calculations made in house to steer the robot according to precise specifications. For example, in processes that involve highly complex movements or when movements have to be performed in minimum time or with minimum acceleration.
Example
In the manufacture of complex components, the CAD point cloud is used to guide the tool along the edges of the object being machined.
The mathematical processes employed are derived from differential geometry and allow optimum motion control that is precisely tailored to the job in hand.
